Tree Service that fits your property

Healthy trees start with a practical plan. We assess live oaks, cedar elms, pecans and other Central Texas trees, then recommend the work your property actually needs.

Complete tree care begins with deciding whether a tree needs pruning, treatment, removal or simply time to recover. We look at the canopy, trunk, surrounding ground and the way the tree interacts with your buildings and outdoor spaces. A useful estimate explains the recommendation rather than treating every tree as a removal job.

Austin properties often combine mature shade trees with utility lines, fences and compact access routes. We coordinate trimming, stump work and cleanup so that the order of the work makes sense. For larger properties, the plan can separate immediate hazards from routine maintenance that can be scheduled later.

Signs it is time to call a local tree crew

You do not need to diagnose a tree yourself before asking for help. A new lean, broken branch, crowded canopy, unexpected dead wood or changing leaves can be a reason to schedule an assessment. Sometimes the concern is simpler: a tree blocks access, branches contact a roof, or an old stump gets in the way of maintaining the yard. Tell us what you have noticed and what you want the space to do.

Changes after a storm deserve particular caution. A branch can remain suspended in the canopy even after the main debris has fallen. Do not climb the tree, pull on damaged limbs or stand beneath an unstable crown. If power lines are involved, keep everyone away and contact the utility or emergency services first. Our estimate starts with safety, not a request for you to take risks gathering information.

Our process: clear advice, safe work, full cleanup

1. Talk with Jason

Call (512) 743-6577 and describe your property, the service you need and any immediate concern. We work in English and Spanish. Let us know about narrow gates, steep access, nearby structures or a commercial property’s operating hours so those details can be part of the site visit.

2. A free on-site estimate

We walk the work area, assess the trees and explain the recommended scope. You receive a clear price with no obligation to proceed. If the project needs permits, specialized rigging, stump grinding or specific debris handling, we discuss those details before the job. We beat any insured competitor’s price, so bring a comparable insured quote when you speak with us.

3. A plan for your property

Once the scope is agreed, we plan the equipment, crew access and order of work. Careful planning helps protect fences, gardens and occupied spaces. We coordinate with you about vehicles, pets and the area that needs to remain clear. A good plan is not simply fast; it gives the crew the room and method needed to complete the job safely.

4. Work completed and debris removed

Our crew carries out the agreed work and finishes with thorough cleanup. We haul the debris included in your estimate and review the result with you. If your next step involves planting, construction or changing the ground surface, ask about the preparation required beyond tree work so there is no confusion about what is included.

The right equipment and an insured crew

JW Tree & Land Service is licensed and insured. We use the approach appropriate to the tree, site and available access, including careful rigging for complex jobs. Heavy equipment is not automatically necessary for every large tree, and machine access is not possible in every yard. We evaluate the actual conditions rather than choosing the most dramatic method before seeing the property.

Homes, HOAs and commercial properties

Residential work is planned around your home and neighbors. Commercial work may also need coordination with parking areas, public access and property managers. We offer HOA and commercial maintenance contracts, as well as right-of-way clearance. Tell us whether you need a one-time project or a recurring maintenance discussion so the estimate reflects your priorities.

Austin trees need Austin knowledge

Live oaks, cedar elms, pecans and Ashe junipers face a mix of drought, limestone soils and sudden freezing weather. We look for signs of chlorosis, Hypoxylon canker and bacterial leaf scorch when discussing declining trees, without assuming that every yellow leaf has the same cause. Healthy tree decisions take the site and season into account.

We follow Texas A&M Forest Service oak wilt prevention guidance: no routine oak pruning February 1 through June 30, with wounds painted immediately year-round. Root-graft transmission may require trenching assessment. For protected trees, we handle TORA permits under Austin’s 19-inch ordinance and offer Heritage Tree consultation for qualifying trees at 24 inches or more.

Tree Service: common questions

How do I know if I need tree service?

Healthy trees start with a practical plan. We assess live oaks, cedar elms, pecans and other Central Texas trees, then recommend the work your property actually needs.

Do you provide free estimates?

Yes. We visit your property, assess the work and provide a no-obligation estimate. Call (512) 743-6577 to arrange a visit.

Can you work around a house or narrow access?

We assess gates, fences, utilities and equipment access before choosing a method. We plan rigging and access for complex removals and tight spaces when appropriate.

Will you clean up after the work?

Yes. We include full cleanup and debris hauling in the agreed scope. Stump grinding and any additional site preparation should be discussed during the estimate.

How do you protect Austin oak trees?

Avoid oak pruning from February 1 through June 30 to reduce oak wilt risk. We follow Texas A&M Forest Service guidance and paint oak wounds immediately year-round. Hazardous branches may require prompt attention regardless of season.

Do you serve commercial properties?

Yes. We handle residential and commercial work, including HOA maintenance contracts and right-of-way clearance.

Can I get an estimate in Spanish?

Yes. Se Habla Español. Our bilingual crew can discuss estimates and tree work in English or Spanish. Choose your preferred language on the estimate form or let us know when you call.
